january is kinda the worst right? the excitement surrounding the holidays has gone and we’re left with cold weather, full work weeks, what feel like empty homes after the decorations have been trashed/put away, and actual colds. like seriously, i don’t know what is going on this year but max and i just can’t seem to kick the colds we’ve now had for several weeks! so when scotties reached out about a collaboration, the timing felt quite right.
the one thing january has going for it is that it offers a fresh start. sure the cozy holiday decorations are gone but it’s a great time to regroup, reorganize, and redecorate! and if you’re like me {and everyone else on instagram}, you’re also probably purging like crazy thanks to marie kondo’s new netflix series. maybe {?} it’s counterproductive but there are 2 reasons for me to purge…the right reason is to get rid of excess stuff, of which i have much of. the other reason l purge is to get new stuff. sue me.
new pillow for the couch + a new plant
a scotties herringbone design is a perfect fit for our living room
i’ve been working on both big and small changes around #farmhousedialfano recently but i’ve found it’s the small ones that often provide the biggest impact. even the smallest of changes can go a long way in making your home both feel and look different. think new pillows or a throw. new hardware and plants. picture frames or decorative objects.
with a 2 year old who is in daycare, we need access to tissues EVERYWHERE and at all times. tissue boxes that blend into the design of our home? score. scotties has a wide variety of designs to choose from and are a fun way to incorporate necessary items while also expressing your style. bonus points: they are high quality tissues and not those flimsy see-through tissues that scrape your nose.
new planter / new vase / new candle holder / new tray / new wood scoops / new artwork / new frame
until i can get the marble looking countertops i really want, i’ll settle for a marble inspired tissue box !
max’s room is a larger project right now as we transition from nursery to little girl’s room. so far we have a new rug {which incidentally is 20% off right now!} and chair to replace the rocker, and i recently found the perfect pillow for the chair. pillows really can make the biggest difference, whether a new pattern, color or shape. we’ve actually got two scotties boxes in there right now, another herringbone and moody nature scene.
are you guys working on any home projects right now? big or small? let me know in the comments! and thank you to scotties for partnering on this post and for supporting brands i’m a fan of. all opinions are my own.
